Illustrated by cartoonist Frank Caruso, the tome — which takes its title from the band's 21 Century Breakdown track of the same name — will see release via Dey Street Books Oct. Co-authored by all three Green Day members collectively, the book about "true rebel girls" is described by its publisher as "an inspiring homage and handbook for the rebellious everywoman who refuses to capitulate. The book's theme echos the story found in its namesake anthem. There, "Last of the American Girls" furthers the tale of 21st Century Breakdown character Gloria, a "one of a kind" woman "singing songs on the eve of destruction.
